The Lord Reigns

" This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Sanctuary

Psalm 63:2
"I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory."

"God's sanctuary is where we meet God face to face in very personal way, away from the distractions of the world to commune with Him and be filled with his love and joy."

Last saturday I had a conflict with one of my family members in which emotions and anger surfaced that left everyone feeling flat and empty. At that point I knew I had completely failed God again. My immediate reaction was that I could not go to church the next day. It seemed that I would be a hypocrite standing in his Holy sanctuary worshiping him while I had failed Him so miserably.
When I awoke on that Sunday morning the thought never came into my mind again. It seemed that my feet, hands and my whole self just moved on their own accord to church. As soon as the praise and worship started, the verse of Psalms 63:2,"I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory", came to mind and I was just overwhelmed by the presence of God bestowing his love upon me. I knew I was in the right place, in his temple, in his sanctuary, in the presence of Jehovah. God made those feet move to the church so I could see that He wants us in His presence just as we are.
In His presence a veil is lifted from our eyes and we see clearly our destiny regardless of the failures of the week. We see clearly that we are still on that great journey to the glory land and that Jesus is still in the process of remaking us into new creations readying us for that final day.
Going to church we gather in a special way in His sanctuary in the presence of Jehovah together with other saints to worship as one body and to worship together in spirit and in truth. God encourages us to do this because it pleases him and it makes us grow together into one body of believers. We also know we don't have to wait for sunday to enter his sanctuary for we just have to come into his presence by prayer and in His presence we are in His temple and sanctuary.
Come into His presence and His temple and sanctuary often this week to turn from the troubles of this world into the peace and serenity of the love of Christ and see the many promises of life forever with Him. Dwell on them and see that God is in control and will bring you safely into the everlasting arms of our precious saviour Jesus Christ.
